Practice managers have responsibility for the business development, computer systems, financial control, planning, marketing, fostering of relationships with other health providers, and human resources aspects of a general practice. Practice Management is a recognised career with tertiary courses designed to meet the challenges of today’s general practice.

Australian Association of Practice Manager (AAPM) is the professional body for Practice Managers.  AAPM has established a Professional Development Program including the AAPM Fellowship Program.
